Northside Presbyterian Church

Weekly eUpdate

May 20, 2026

The Week Ahead

This Sunday is Pentecost, so wear something red to church (orange is also acceptable). Linda's message will be “Inspired.” The choir will sing “Holy Spirit, Living Breath of God.” The handchime choir will also play.

The Adult Forum will hear from Sophia and Emmanuel Frimpong about their work to establish a school in Ghana.

The church office will be closed on Monday, May 25, for the Memorial Day holiday.

On Sunday, May 31, we will have a "Start of Summer" picnic following worship. We hope to be outside (weather permitting) beginning at about 11:20 a.m. Fellowship will provide baked chicken, lemonade, water and iced tea. Please bring a side dish and a dessert. Help will be needed to set up tables and chairs, and to set out the food, plates, glasses and silverware. Come to celebrate the beginning of summer season!

A New Directory is Coming

Work is underway to collect, correct, and update contact information for Northside's members and friends. This includes a check of mailing address, email address, phone numbers, and birthdates (year optional). There are paper copies of directory info in the Narthex to check. Once all the updates are in, a new directory will be available this summer.

It is also possible to update your and your family's information on line. Scan the QR code, which will take you to the church page in ChurchTrac. Enter your email address, which will be validated by a code sent to that address. Enter the code, then you will see a list of names of people who can be updated. Click the edit button, update or confirm that the info is correct, then click the "Done with this person" button. Your submission will be reviewed and updates applied.

You can also manage this through your browser.

Monday Night Supper

This week's meal was tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, fruit and cookies. We served 50 meals. Thanks to Alex Chaney for filling in while the Harpers are in Florida.

Thanks to our volunteers this week: Marge and George, Barbara, Marshall, Ann Marie and Maria, and Susan.

Bag Collection: If you have groceries delivered from Kroger, please save the large delivery bags and bring them to the church. If you have friends who get deliveries and don't know what to do with the bags, we can use them. They are the right size to pack multiple meals for delivery to the parking lot. It is a good way to recycle the bags, reducing the need to order brown paper shopping bags.

Volunteers to help prepare and pack meals are always welcome and needed.
