The Week Ahead The Northside Bible Study group will meet at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at English Meadows.
This Sunday is the 6th Sunday of Easter. It is also Mother's Day. Linda's message will be on “The Companion.” The choir will sing “O the Boundless Love of God.” We will collect the 2 Cents a Meal offering.
The Adult Forum will discuss "Old Testament Questions" with Linda leading the discussion. Come prepared with questions or things you always wondered about the Old Testament.

A New Directory is Coming
The planets are starting to align and work in earnest has begun to collect, correct, and update contact information for Northside's members and friends. This will include a check of mailing address, email address, phone numbers, and birthdates (year optional). Update steps will include an email from ChurchTrac (the system we use to keep up with directory info), and paper copies of directory info in the Narthex to check. Once all the updates are in, a new directory will be available this summer.

Monday Night Supper
This week's meal was Swedish meatballs and noodles, peas and carrots, fruit and cookies. We served 73 meals.
Thanks to our volunteers this week: Marge and George, Barbara, Alex, Pam, Susan, and Heidi and Bruce. We also had two visitors from Blacksburg Presbyterian Church, Jan and Sara, who came to see how our mission to feed the hungry operates each week.
Bag Collection: If you have groceries delivered from Kroger, please save the large delivery bags and bring them to the church. If you have friends who get deliveries and don't know what to do with the bags, we can use them. They are the right size to pack multiple meals for delivery to the parking lot. It is a good way to recycle the bags, reducing the need to order brown paper shopping bags.
Volunteers to help prepare and pack meals are always welcome and needed. |
