Music Programs

Music is eclectic--we sing traditional hymns, contemporary praise music, and a great deal of international music, ordinarily using piano and organ by our accomplished accompanist, Ms. Pat Fullen. We have a wonderful Adult Choir, directed by Ms. Marya Katz, which offers praise and inspiration through a variety of music styles September through May. The Northside Chimers offers a unique, special musical addtion to our worship services. We frequently are blessed by the addition of flute, violin, guitar, drums and rhythm instruments, harp, dulcimer, etc. Our members have many musical gifts.

Children & Youth Music Programs

Our Associate Music Director, shares music with the Children and Youth during Sunday school.

We believe it is very important for the children to be a part of worship. Children share in worship by singing and/or playing percussion or Orff instruments (metallophones). When children aren’t making music during worship, Marci arranges for the children to carry in the elements and/or a decorated banner on special occasions. Reverend Linda also has the children share special psalms.

children singing 2Northside is fortunate to have extremely musical youth a part of our congregation. On the third Sunday of each month you might hear violin or classical guitar during the offertory. October and May are “Youth Music Months.” Youth chime the hour each morning before worship and share their music talents throughout worship during each of those months.

Northside youth share in presenting a Joy Gift Dinner Play each winter, leading the congregation in Christmas hymns and sharing a specially prepared piece of their own. Youth also plan music for Youth Sunday each spring.
